The 13th of August is a Tunisian public holiday yclept Women’s Day. It celebrates the issuing of the Code of Personal Status (CPS) in 1956, which ameliorated the status of Tunisian woman in the society. Nonetheless, it was not until 1957 that CPS was implemented.
