Her commitment to religious life culminated in her appointment as the full-time senior rabbi of the West London Synagogue, a significant and demanding position within one of the UK's most prominent Jewish communities. Her contributions extend far beyond the synagogue. As a British member of the prestigious House of Lords, Baroness Neuberger has played an active role in national policy and debate. She initially aligned herself with the Liberal Democrat party, taking their whip and contributing to parliamentary discussions from that political standpoint. Upon assuming the demanding, full-time responsibilities as the senior rabbi of the West London Synagogue, she made the principled decision to resign from the Liberal Democrats and transition to becoming a crossbencher.
