Rouben Zachary Mamoulian ( roo-BEN mah-mool-YAHN; Armenian: Ռուբէն Մամուլեան; October 8, 1897 – December 4, 1987) was an Armenian-American director, producer, screenwriter and film editor . Mamoulian is widely regarded as one of the most influential filmmakers in cinema history.
