David Topliss, English rugby league player and coach (d. 2008)
David Topliss (29 December 1949 – 16 June 2008), also known by the nickname of "Toppo", was an English World Cup winning professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, and coached in the 1980s and 1990s. He played at representative level for Great Britain, England and Yorkshire, at club level for Wakefield Trinity (Heritage № 746) (two spells) (captain), Penrith Panthers (Heritage № 123), Balmain Tigers, Hull F.C. (Heritage №) (captain) and Oldham (Heritage № 903), as a stand-off, i.e. number 6, and coached at club level for Wakefield Trinity.
