Lailat al Bara’a is remembered in the Muslim community but for various and separate reasons.
In the context of Sunni, it is a night where Muslims worship Allah and seek salvation. On this Night, ALLAH commences the destiny for all the people of this Earth for the year that is about to come next. It is also referred to as the Night of Emancipation.
In the view of Shia, it is the date of the birth of Imam al-Mahdi. The belief of Shia is that he will be the twelfth and final Shia Imam. Other than that, Mahdi is believed to be a very crucial figure of Islam as Muslims have faith that he will come about and bring complete justice in a world filled with pure evil. He will establish Islam as a global religion.
